Send a message to the person who requested a photo of the grave monument of Stephen Wake with the following comment:

Stephen and Eleanor Wake are my 4 time great grandparents. They were my father's father's father's mother's parents.Stephen Wake was born about 1769, probably in South Cowton since there were other Wakes being born there about that time with parents George and Catherine.Stephen Wake married Eleanor Collier Oct 28, 1790 in South Cowton.Eleanor Collier was born about 1769 in Gilling which is about 6 miles west of South Cowton. The 1841 and 1851 census show Eleanor (Ellen) Wake from Gilling living in Osmotherley with her unmarried son John who was 45 and 55 years old at the time of the 2 census. Therefore, I think the son John mentionned on the gravestone was probably 58, not 38. Eleanor was 70 and 81 on the 2 census. Both Eleanor and John had disappeared by the 1861 census, which would be consistent if they had both died.Stephen and Eleanor Wake's daughter Eleanor was born about 1792 in Cowton and married my 3 times great grandfather John Coates May 1, 1816 in Osmotherley.
